Interplanetary Shock (or CME Arrival)
Catalog: M2M_CATALOG
Location: STEREO A
Event Time: 2026-04-26T03:51Z ( STEREO A: IMPACT )
All Detecting Spacecrafts:
STEREO A: IMPACT
STEREO A: PLASTIC
Activity ID: 2026-04-26T03:51:00-IPS-001 (version 3)
Quality of ICME Signature: -1 (unspecified)
Note: Characterized by a sharp enhancement in magnetic field components (B_t: approx. 5nT to 23nT , B_x: approx. -5nT to 5nT , B_y: approx. 2nT to 20nT , B_z: approx. -2nT to -15nT). Velocity , temperature and density data is currently too sparse to determine any notable changes. This signature is likely associated with the combined arrival of 5 CMEs which left the Sun between 2026-04-23 and 2026-04-24 (CME: 2026-04-23T18:00Z, CME:2026-04-23T14:24Z, CME: 2026-04-23T16:30Z, CME: 2026-04-24T01:24Z and CME: 2026-04-24T08:24Z). The latest CME, CME: 2026-04-24T08:24Z, was also the most significant CME of the five, and it is therefore likely that it swept up the first four CMEs in it's arrival. There is a likely sheath, with wild fluctuation of magnetic field components, followed by the smoothly rotating flux rope with the start ~2026-04-26T09Z.
